Join club professionals for a virtual, intermediate, interactive finance session led by Anthony Piatkowski, CPA, CGA, Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer, Mississaugua Golf & Country Club.

Designed for those in non-finance roles with a foundational understanding of club finance, this session builds on the basics through a practical, real-world review of financial statements, budgeting, key performance indicators, and industry ratios. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of financial expectations across club operations and strengthen their ability to interpret and apply financial information in their day-to-day roles.

Through discussion, walkthroughs, and an applied breakout exercise, attendees will explore how financial data informs decision-making at every level of the organization, from supervisors to senior leadership. This session will begin with a 30-minute opening discussion focused on financial acumen expectations across different roles within a club environment, followed by a 40-minute walkthrough of key financial reports and statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and other internal departmental reports.

Participants will then explore key club industry ratios and KPIs, followed by a short segment on budgeting processes, expectations, and practical tips. The session will also include a hands-on breakout exercise where participants will review sample financial statements, identify notable variances, and discuss findings in small groups of approximately five participants. This will be followed by a group review of insights and key takeaways and will conclude with an open Q&A session.

Overall, this session provides a valuable opportunity to refresh financial knowledge, strengthen decision-making skills, and build greater confidence in understanding and applying financial information within club operations.
