Webby Cup

A Tradition of Competition and Camaraderie

The Webby Cup is one of CMAC Ontario's most anticipated annual traditions, bringing together members of the Ontario Branch and the Southwestern Ontario Branch for a day of friendly competition, networking, and professional camaraderie.

For more than 15 years, the two branches have competed for the coveted trophy, with hosting duties alternating between the branches each year. While there is plenty of friendly rivalry on the course, the true purpose of the event is to strengthen relationships, share ideas and best practices, and build lasting connections within the club management community.

Formerly known as the Trillium Cup, the event was renamed in 2019 in honour of Ian Webb, CCM, a former Ontario Branch President and long-time participant whose dedication and passion for CMAC left a lasting impact on the association.

Event Purpose

The Webby Cup is designed to:

  • Foster relationships between the Ontario and Southwestern Ontario Branches.
  • Encourage networking and professional development.
  • Share ideas and best practices among club management professionals.
  • Promote friendly competition and branch pride.
  • Celebrate the spirit of collaboration within the private club industry.

Tournament Format

The Webby Cup is a 12-player team competition featuring members from both the Ontario Branch and the Southwestern Ontario Branch.

Teams compete in an 18-hole Net Best Ball Match Play format, with points awarded on each hole. At the conclusion of play, the branch with the highest overall point total earns the Webby Cup trophy—and the bragging rights until next year's competition.

Participation is open to eligible CMAC members with an established Handicap Index, with Professional Members receiving priority. Additional players are selected in accordance with the event guidelines.

2026 Webby Cup

Planning is underway for the next Webby Cup, and we're looking forward to another exciting day of friendly competition, networking, and camaraderie between the Ontario and Southwestern Ontario Branches.

Event details, including the host club, registration information, eligibility requirements, and tournament schedule, will be announced soon.

Stay tuned for updates—we can't wait to see which branch will take home the Webby Cup next!
